Check Recovery RCK electronic check recovery is rapidly becoming the method of choice for bounced check recovery. RCK can efficiently recover NSF checks, and become a source of additional revenue. RCK is the re-presentment of bounced checks (NSFs) by conversion of the paper item to an ACH/EFT (electronic funds transfer) item. RCK places merchants behind the scenes, and eliminates embarrassing phone calls or letters to your customers. After a paper item is returned NSF, it is converted to an electronic debit and submitted through the Federal Reserves Automated Clearing House. When the item clears, you receive 100% face value of the item. Service bureau RCK is for companies that wish to have bounced checks collected by a third party, thereby eliminating any involvement, labor, or other necessary procedures from internal collection procedures. Service bureau RCK costs nothing. Not only is RCK a great method of recovering the face value of bounced checks, but because the company has the option to have us collect an NSF fee, the revenues to the company from these fees can be significant. For companies who have a significant volume of NSF checks, it may be desirable to process and recover funds in-house. Internal RCK gives you total control of the NSF collection process. How internal RCK works:
Internal RCK does require that paper checks are digitally imaged and the image stored for seven years. In addition, you may face more vigorous audit compliance issues. Generally, internal RCK only makes sense for companies that have over 2,000 NSF items per month.
